Our Vision

Average people, doing above average things.

Average Joes started as a way to bridge the gap between the average gun owner and the prepared citizen. Our aim is to develop average firearms owners to be proficient with firearms and capable of above average performance on demand.

The gun industry can feel intimidated and closed off to newcomers, so we established our range days as a way to build community with a large amount of shooters, both experienced and new; give them some fundamental drills to ignite their training progression; and try to create an environment of learning that will be a stepping stone in their journey to be a prepared citizen.

In education, expectation Theory states that when a teacher has high expectations for their students, regards them as capable and expects them to do well, that teacher may attempt to teach more and to create a more positive atmosphere, leading to higher achievement. We must expect more.

As more new shooters have come through our range days, we’ve seen an increased need for foundational training in our area which lead us to start holding classes throughout the year. We aspire to show shooters how to hold themselves to a standard greater than social media. We are accountable to ourselves; our family; our community, past, present, and future. Those that have fought before us, those that fight currently and those that will take up arms in the future—they all deserve for us to uphold high standards for firearms owners.
